I've tried three different types of wrench's and still no luck! I don't think I'm that mechanically dumb but this is stumping me.(uhm) My question to anyone who's removed there own filter is what wrench exactley did you use? Cause I need to go get one!

i use my hand! but if its the first filter that yer takin off mine was a b****..and i had to go to the dealer and they just removed it for me no charge..

yup, its easy when you lube the new one with lithium grease before installing it hand-tight

Thanks for the advice. Use my hands, thats a good idea!! It's the original filter and it's TIGHT. I've always used my hands on every other car I've had. Even the family boat was do-able by hand but I can't even seem to get two hands on this one. The location sucks!! I hope that the next filter is a little easier to get off. Sounds like it should be. Thanks again.

They have special pliers that are made to take off oil filters. They also have a claw type of thing that connects to a socket wrench and it tightens as you turn the wrench so it gets all sorts of stock filters off very easily.

Yeah, you can reach it either from over or under the car, just figure out whichever you can get more torque from. It's really easy if it's up on a lift though, but I guess I'm spoiled that way :P
