how do i get the alternator OUT?

i wrestled with this thing for awhile today until it started raining. it looks like it can come through the bottom, but the exhaust is in the way. i almost got that midpipe section off before i had to go inside. do you think getting the exhaust off will make it easier? this thing is shoehorned in there and any tips will be nice.

exhaust or axle need to come out to get at this

I tried the EXACT same thing!

Eventually I realized I could unbolt the power steering control, and unbolt the surrounding wires. The alt slipped right out (taken from the top side).

Actually, the hardest part was getting the alt back toward the top, after I had jiggled it down to where the exhaust was blocking it.

Why are you taking your alt out? did it go bad or are you upgrading?
