2012 CX-9 GT Loaded
I just leased a 2012 GT and it has the silver door inserts. I had a 08 GT with the silver iserts qand they look like crap in short order. Anyone have a suggestion on how to protect them? I was thinking buying some 3M clear tape like you would put on a bumper. Other options (not interested in painting them)

On your 08, did you ever replace them?
Original older '08 have bad parts on them. All silver painted trim pieces were replaced.
The cause was that a special anti-scratch layer was missing. The newer parts should be OK.
Mine have been good after 3+ years.

I think clear film is a great idea. The main way ours get scratched is from the wifes purse. I pretty much keep my mouth shut though. I can't expect her to be as anal as I am about everything. I always get quite the sigh when I park at the back of the parking lot, and trying to explain my reasonings only digs me deeper into the hole. So I don't say anything about the purse banging around.

Ceric is correct. the 08's would scrape right off with little effort. The 2012 shouldn't be an issue at all. I wouldn't worry about it. If you must, then I'd suggest a vinyl wrap.
