hooked up egr to crankcase

What if i tapped the plug 1/8npt, then ran a small, say 1/4" id line into the intake tube after the MAF so its getting metered air. I have the valve cover breather running to a breather filter now, so that port is just plugged om the tube now.
If the egr opened when the motor was in vaccum it would just suck some air in around the TB. If it opened on boost it would all still just go into the motor. 99.9% through the TB and a tiny bit through the egr.

If the EGR valve doesn't require pressurized air (the exhaust line is pressurized) you can just leave it open couldn't you? If you're just connecting it to the pre-turbine air isn't that the same as just leaving the EGR unplugged?

Also, shouldn't you put the EGR air line before the MAF? It's not that much flow, and since it's all going to the same place eventually it shouldn't matter.

If it was left wide open, i believe t wouldnt throw a code, but when open it would be a big vacuum leak. If you plump it after the MAF no leak. I still need to do this to mine.

Ahh yes, when it's open you'd be getting air that isn't controlled by the TB or metered by the MAF. Good point. Thanks.

If I have any more problems hooking up my EGR to my exhaust I might do this. Luckily they'll never find something like that in my visual inspections. Only the dealer would know if I had a warantee issue.

Dont need this s*** anymore, WOOT!!! MAP, and LEV kicks ass!!!! No stupid MAF, and no EGR hooked up to the exhaust mani.

My car is registered in PA,and the guy told me any CEL you will fail, Im not sure about your area, but i believe you are close to me, so the same rules might apply. My inspection ran our end of august, so i havent brought my car back to PA since. Plan on taking it home thanksgiving and attempting inspection/emmisions.
