I am working on getting a hood scoop. Maybe somthing similar to the WRX scoop. It will be painted to match the car. I really need to cool things down a bit under the hood. I thought about the Evo hood, but I don't want all the attention. I want my car looking stock as much as possible. I also do not want to spend $700 on a hood so I came up w/ the scoop idea. I need suggestions on where to place it. I am thinking in the middle of the hood so air will hit the engine. Should I put it towards the back to help keep the IM cooler? I also thought about the front where the turbo is, but I don't think it would look good, but that would be the ideal place to put it.

How is the evo hood more attention than a hood scoop? You can barely if at all notice the evo hood while driving next to the car or from a distance at some angles. Plus the heat just vents right straight up and out. But if you get a scoop which I think would look good then put it right in the middle.

A WRX hood scoop is definitely more noticeable than an EVO hood, but unless you're trying to be a sleeper, what difference does it make? A hood scoop also won't do jack for cooling. Our cars have crazy underhood temperatures, so if you want to lower the temp, you need to vent air out. The best combo for right now would be one of DGM's AutoEXE grilles (mesh lets air in) & an EVO hood. I personally don't care for the EVO hood at all & came up with an idea that actually does attract less attention:

oh now that venting system is just sick!!! I like that alot. I want one of thouse how long did it take to make?

hmm then it will be about and $8-900 hood. jut get it on and lets see what it looks like. i been thinking about adding one myself, but i need to get an extra hood to do it.

i have the dgm grille and VIS evo hood on my car. it looks real good. i'll post pics if anyone wants to see it. it is functional and makes a diference in cooling
