yea great idea. lol. so i can be behind tommorrow...we do 8 hours per day of pure language instruction. its hard enough to understand the dr. with ESL, let alone if i didnt do my homework. im also learning the days of the week.

Hey man if you ever need any help with that stuff, I am on my 3rd year so far of it. I am guessing you are learning writing styles first. Are they teaching you classic first? But now a day it is very useful. Especially in the military, good luck man!

alphabet mostly. like i said that was the first day of class. i dont know where youre learning it, but it is turbo speed at the language institute. you figure we are expected to know more than you probably, in 47 weeks. and youre on your third year :(

btw whoever asked its Persian-Farsi, not arabic.

I dont understand this post?

Reed College , is were i am taking it, I am majoring in Computer engineering, I have learned 3 writing styles, and gone through 2 variations. are you going to be taking any arabic. I didnt think persian farsi was really the most popular dialect in and around Iraq? Are you planning another career around this, perhaps the FBI?

1) farsi is rarely spoken in iraq, its spoken in Iran and Afghanistan.
2) what im saying is, you are on your third year. picture say four college years of this language. the army teaches you more than 4 years of this language in less than one year.
3) im in the army, im an interrogator. thats where i plan on using it. maybe if i get out in 2008 i will link up with the NSA or something.
4) farsi has some similarities to arabic since the arabs conquered persia thousands of years ago, but mostly its different.
5) if i decide to stay in the army 20 years more than likely i will come back to the language institute to learn arabic to be pretty proficient in that whole area of the world.
