I was just wondering if anyone has been running on of the fake/ knock off HKS BOV off of ebay, if so im curious as to how it has been holding up. Im was thinking of purchasing one as a temporary, until i have the money to buy a real HKS, please let me know. I know some people will probably freak out, but i just need a temporary solution becasue my forge BPV wont fit with my injen cai and cold pipe from fmic.

I don't know how the knock off performs but I know they don't sound the same. Ain't nothing like the real thing though, the sound is fierce. It definitely scared the hell out of celica gt-s last night.

Issue with eBay parts compared to actual HKS parts is the sound and quality Is much worse. I know someone who had a knock off one off eBay an it broke within a year, but from a Vender not eBay. The price you "save" isnt justifiable enough.

Oh and to add, if there IS a issue with eBay parts, it's hard to get a claim going. I've had to many issues with eBay venders that just close their account after 6 months or so. Kinda messed up.

yeah i realized with all the ones going for 60 that the sellers have very low feedback, so im sure once someone states they are knock offs they close their account, i really want a black HKS but not to many places seem to have them

a friend of mine with a boosted p5 has a HKS knockoff with a carbon fiber look to it and it has held up so far and he has had it for over a year and a half

I had one when I first installed my GT28RS and FMIC. Worst purchase I could have ever made it never did work right. I actually thought the BOV had to warm up to work, because it wouldn't blow off until I had been driving the car for about 15-20 min. Your safer saving the money up and getting a real HKS

Cloning the HKS is hard to do. I have seen Greddy type-s knock offs that actually had better diaphragms than Greddy. But HKS is trickier to clone

i bought a real hks from one of their authorized sellers, not to bad of a price it was $210 shipped for version 3, although i had to settle for silver, i couldn't see paying an extra $60 to get a black V2

black v2 ftw. if its a knockoff its a damn good one but im pretty sure its real (legit box, legit HKS label plate...)

lol i bought a ssqv3 from this seller http://shop.ebay.com/corezoneparts/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25 for $95 shipped. i messaged him a few times, he assured me it was real... when i received the valve i inspected it and disassembled it, everything looks authentic! the diaphragm is not made of hard plastic, all the trademarks are where they should be, and it works great.
