HKS Injen CAI fitment

Anyone have the HKS SSQV Injen CAI setup installed? There seems to be a slight fitment problem with this combo. It seems like the Injen CAI comes farther out then most CAIs to clear the shifter weight, however this leaves little room for the BPV hose. I have a few 90 deg fittings to make it work (waiting for silicone hoses) but I was wondering if there was a better way?

the HKS doesnt fit in recirc mode with any intake setup. I hear trimming the recirc hose helps alot as you can angle it facing down easier.

Nutari- thanks, it fits....sort of in recirc. With the 90 deg bends x2 it kinda makes it. I used a silicone hose some brass bends and clamps to get it together. (I wanted to keep the stock stuff just incase) I think with all silicone bends it would fit better but I wasn't sure. No CEL's, just looks like A$$.

A while back i had the injen intake and bought a hks... all i can say is good luck man... and nutari that is not the case, i have seen a few speed 3's with a aftermarket intake and the hks in recirc. (mazdaspeed intake works)
Speed money one thing you might try is sawing off a little bit of the vaccum line part on the hks(where the vacucum line hooks up to the bov)
I was able to angle mine up and almost get it to fit.. they put such a long nozzle on that thing it wont hurt to take some off...

funny because I had that exact setup. HKS with the MS CAI. Its great that you try to sound like you know what you are talking about. (scratch)
If you don't have any real experience with the problem presented, please don't try to answer with rumors and things you read on the internets. I have dealt with at least three different intakes and the HKS BOV/BPV and none of them worked right.

We have also tried shortening the vacuum source on the HKS and it did help a little, but the recirc hose still binds up. Also, depending on which bpv mount you get, you have to angle the bpv a different way.

in the end, I suggest sticking with the Forge bpv as it fits just like the factory piece.

Does anyone know where to get an angled BOV flange for the Speed 3 (See pict)? This would solve most of the problem, as this will angle the recirc adaptor at more of a straight shot back instead of at an angle.

wow.. i didn't say you an idiot or anything i just said that wasn't the case... and just becuase you couldn't get it to work doesn't mean everyone else couldn't.. i have been to meets and seen the setup.. so maybe you need to come up with some more creative ideas on how to install it. and incase you can't read either... i said that i did have that setup so how would i not have any experience.. i love when people think they know everything! If a protege garage rep says it won't work than it must be impossible! pft

speed money you may not wanna hear it but before you spend more money on it i would seriously think about just getting the forge bypass.. its sounds just as good or better..i was skeptical of it first but believe me its such a better deal...

I know, I just didn't want to mess with springs and the such. Besides..its too late now. I figure another few bucks for a flange and it will be all good. Thanks for all the inputs,...now just need to find the right flange.

yea i know whatcha mean.. but hey if you get it to work than good for you man.. i got frustrated and decided to quit while i was ahead.. i tried te angles and stuff but i had leaks.. just be careful and listen for backfires cuz then you know you got a problem.. if you wouldn't mind posting pics for people who think the hks does'nt work with any intake in recirculation that would be great

I would post picts but I am embarsed by my setup right now...trust me it looks like something out of a getto rigged turbo t-bird.
