I've got an HKS EVC IV that I just got on a trade for some parts. I've been throwing around the idea of upping the boost a bit and eliminating the stock BCS on the car for a while and was thinking of using this boost controller on the car. I see a billion threads about people installing MBC's, but couldn't find one about someone installing an EVC IV. It is a fuzzy logic controller...but it can be run as a normal EBC in the event that the MS3's torque control system confuses the hell out of the fuzzy logic system. It should work more predictably than an MBC, and hopefully, spike less. Anyone think this is a bad idea?
Another question I had (while I'm asking questions) is, what's the safe boost limit this week on a stock engine with just a CAI, turbo inlet, and test pipe? I've read everywhere from 16 to 20 being stated as safe, then I've also read that anything over 18 will blow the engine, or that maybe stock boost is too high and will blow the motor. What's the truth?
