That is a quality amp. I went looking for that line of amps on ebay a year or so ago but couldn't find any...i ended up settling for the next model line.

You can sqeeze 200x2 out of it when bridged. I used the later model in an install for my friend... We hooked up two 4x6 speakers (previous owner of the car bought them) to the front channels and 2 JL Audio 10W0s to the rear channels bridged. Total system cost $275, $125 for the subs, $100 for the amp, and $50 for install materials.

ive got 2 5 x 7 infinity refrence and 2 6 1/2 infinity reference both seperates ... do you think this will power them ? ... i read it was like 25 x 4 rms at 0.1% THD ... sounds spiffy but will it sound better then my kenwood (deck 40x4).... im used to dealing with sub's sorry if i sound noobish about mids

Should be fine, definitly better then the kenwod

Definitely better than any built-in deck amplifier.

Its 25x4 at 12.5v but most cars run at least 13.5-14.4v and at 14.4v it will put out 55x4. I'm guessing the actual output would be somewhere in between, but remember that this amp has its own power supply which is bigger and better than anything that will fit in a single DIN dash location.

For your speakers 50-75 watts would be your goal power rating. This amp might not win you trophies at your local sound off but it will give the power they are looking for. The amp also has a nice crossover (50Hz to 200Hz, 18dB/Octave). Turn it on for both front and rear channels and set it to high-pass. Turn the knob counter-clockwise all the way (50hz) and you'll be able to turn the amp up to louder listening levels without damaging your speakers or your ears. When you're ready for more bass, buy another amp and sub to complete that low end.

damn you are helpfull!! dood thats exactly the info i was looking for thanks a ton!

so can this amp accidently blow my speakers?

Distortion, clipping specifically, is what blows speakers. Clipping occurs when one or more devices in your signal path cannot generate the sound wave and instead clips off the tips of the waves (did you learn about sine waves and square waves in physics?). Usually clipping is caused by overworking an amplifier (not enough power for the volume you desire). However, clipping can also occur if a speaker cannot handle the power from the amp and it over extends beyond the limits of its motor but this will only occur with lower frequencies (hence the need for a crossover).

Basically with speakers you can blow them whether the amp is too powerfull or not powerfull enough. As long as you set the amp up correctly, use the crossovers effectively, and keep the volume at a level that does not produce audible distortion, you should be able to power any set of speakers with any amp.
