Hidden Trailer Hitch for Mazda Protege $125

I have a hidden trailer hitch that fit my 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege sedan, and it also fits a regular Mazda Protege sedan 1999-2003. It is rated at 2000 lbs and has a removable flat drawbar with a 2 inch ball included. When the drawbar is removed, only about half an inch of receiver is visible below the bumper which is what makes it "hidden". All mounting hardware is included plus the fish wire which makes it very easy to get the bolts inside the frame so you can bolt on the hitch. I'm asking $125 for this very unique hitch, plus shipping. I am in Portland, OR 97267. Thanks for looking!

Not sure I know what you mean by a "rear lip". It worked fine on my 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege which had a different rear bumper compared to the normal Mazda Protege. If you mean some aftermarket piece, then I wouldn't know as I never had one on my MSP. See the two DSCN jpgs attached to the original post to see how it fit on my car.

Why would they change the rear lip just to paint it blue or silver or yellow? It worked fine painted black or orange. Why would Mazda change it???

Bump for more info: This trailer hitch worked fine with my 03 black Mazdaspeed Protege rear bumper and lip. If you needed to space it lower to the ground for the 03.5 then that is easily done with some simple washers you can get at any hardware store. This is a great price on a hitch that doesn't show when the drawbar is removed, because the receiver is very close to the rear bumper and is recessed back from the rear edge of the bumper. Easy to install the drawbar when you need it to pull a jetski or small trailer (Class 2 rated, which is 2000 lbs). Let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks!

Sorry to revive this old thread but could you tell me where you bought it or the make/model of the hitch? I've seen tons but none that say they specifically work on the MSP.

Thanks!

Look at the attached pics in the first post. Reese is the manufacturer but I'm pretty sure it isn't manufactured anymore since there is no demand. But you can always check using the web!
