okay i bought an h7 hid kit for hidexpress.com When i opened the kit i have everything i needed, bulbs, ballasts, ignitors, all wires. Now i took out the stock bulbs but am having fitment issues with the hid bulbs. The stock bulbs fits into like an adaptor looking thing. When i try and put the hid bulb in it fits but it doesnt really hold in place since it is the same shape but the spring that held the stock bulbs in place doesnt really work. So im asking for anybody who has an hid kit installed on their p5 how did you hold the hid bulbs in place

you have to take the black adapter off the original bulb and drill the middle out of it. I did have some pics of how to do it, but i just deleted them the other day while cleaning my HD. if you need any more info just let me know.

is there anyway i can buy these from the dealer because i dont really want to drill a hole in mine just in case there is a problem and i have to go back to stock settings

does this help ?

the sedans do not have the adapter
it adapts the harness from a H4 to a H7.

thanks for all the info guys i think im just gonna buy an adaptor from the dealer and drill a hole in it. Mikeblue P5 do you think you could take a pic of what the setup looks like on your car

hmm, i might be able to pull one of the bulbs out, ill look in a little bit, and if i can i will get a pic.

here's the part # for that bulb Holder- B28V-51-0A3 you will need 2 of them.
Also they are $9.00 EACH! I just went back to stock, and i also drilled mines out. Works real good!! Good luck!

thank you all for all of your help. I will go order them tommorow at the dealer. Was there any reason you are going back to stock? Thanks once again for all the infoI will post pics as soon as i install them

cool

definitely post pic

also wondering hows the beam would be like?

will there be too much glare and blind everybody else on the road?

hey,
This is what my beams look like. Only been flashed once, but I was comming over a hill. You will need to aim them though. They are hella ballasts with phillips xenarc bulbs.

They are actually rated at 5400 kelvin, but they look more like the 8000 kelvin kits I see everywhere else. They are blue, but not too blue. Maybe sylvania rates their bulbs differently. My brother also has these and they look identical. Oh yeah, they are sylvania, not phillips. Sorry

Some people way that the beam will be off to the left, right, too high, too low because the headlight housings were not originally made for hid kits. I was curious about this, however all my doubts went away when I put them in. They are beautiful and the beam is perfect. You will have to aim the lights of course. They do not blind anyone. I will take some pics tonight and post them from inside the car looking out to show the beam. Also, the fog lights are nokya arctic white bulbs. They are like $25 at any speed shop I have been to. Just post any other questions. (thumb)
