HID fogs for 06 Hatch

Hey everybody.

I've got a quick question. One of my customers bought an HID conversion kit for his fog lights on his 06 Mazda 3 hatch.

I was just talking to him and the bulbs appear to be too long. I've called mazda to quadruple check the bulb type and I haven't managed to get anywhere.

I can honestly say that I've never run into this situation.

Has anyone done this ?

All mazda fog lights in the lower bumper (I assume that is what he has) are reflector housings and not projector housings. Therefore, they have a metal reflector inside that sits where the end of the bulb would be. Since HIDs are longer bulbs to accomidate the arc wire, they push up against the end. You have to do what I did on my 2004 6, and open the foglight housing and remove the reflector. (makes it brighter anyways.)

Yah that's what I was thinking too. Thanks for your reply :)

Do you know if anyone has found an alternative to that ? I always thought that if you took out that reflector you'd end up with really bad hot spots on the ground infront of you.
