HID: 4300k vs 6000k

I have a 03 Blue Mazda Protege ES-GT and looking to get some HID's. I had PIAA Super Plasma GT-X's for a little over a year but one has burnt out. They were about 5000k.

Now i'm debating between 4300k or 6000k HIDS. The only problem is which colour to pick. What would you guys recommend out of either the two in terms of looks?

I was recommended to this site for HIDS:

http://www.xenonlightsource.com/productsX.htm

About $250 Canadian with shipping. Anyone deal with these guys before?

Thanks.

Check the vendor section. There is a seller on the forums who sells it for that price, any K rating, and life time warranty on all parts (except bulbs)

Peace

ive been runnin the 6k helios kit. to me its a good balance between light output and looks. i wanted the slight blue hue but still get maximum light output and im happy with these. on start up they are blue as hell but as temps heat up they get whiter.

I have 6k Philips Ultinon bulbs, at startup they are a deep purple, when warm they are extremely white with a purple tint to them. perfect for light output and looks

i have a helios bi-xenon 6000k kit on my black 2003 es-gt,its perfect,i love em...

i was looking for the performance, but without compromise,i also got the look i wanted,i saw some 4300k,i prefer mine, they are really bright white, but when you look at the car,it has a tiny hint of purple, like the audi s,bmw s,but brighter....

get some!!!(shocked)

What colour are your actual bulbs Patmaz and MikeBlueP5?

What i'm trying to achieve is a white with a tinge of pink/purple, but some people are getting either that or a tinge of blue.

the bulb itself is clear, with an almost impossible to see hint of blue while its off,if you look at the bulbs glass i mean...

when you light it up,it looks white/purple,and it goes whiter a few seconds after, with a hint of purple exactly like the audi s and mercedez and bmw s,and infinity s...so,the one you need is the 6000k,you ll be in love with them...

Ok here is another question.

How much glare do you guys have on your protege? Comparing these bulbs, one with casper shield and one with a small black strip, do you think that little black strip will reduce glare?

Casper shield from Xenon Depot

Look at the H4 bulb,

The Xenon Light Source kit comes $240 Canadian shipped while the Xenon Depot one is $340 Canadian shipped. I emailed Xenon Light Source and asked if they're H4 comes with a casper shield, they did'nt know what I was talking about.

Does your bulb come with a metal casper shield or is it painted black in the middle?

thats a bi-xenon bulb, wich have both high and low beam on the same bulb,it mooves back to go high beam, and thats what i have, and no glare at all,the cutout is perfect, the beam patern is perfect, and the focus is perfect too...if you get a single patern hid low beam kit,you wont have that glare shield...that type comes for h4/9004/9007 high/low bi-xenon bulb....and beleive me,its more than worth the price.......(shocked)

I just want the same kind of cut off that my PIAA were producing. Here are some pictures of what the PIAA Halogens were doing in my car:

I hope that whatever HID kit I get can re-duplicate that kind of cutoff. Sorry the picture was taken on a crappy camera phone.

if you get the helios bi-xenon 6000k kit, thats what you will have, but much MOOORRREEE brighter....the same color, and the same cut off....thrust me,i searched for almost 2 years before ordering mine,i got all information possible,i read everything, and beleive me,i know a lot about hid s,and i dont have a single regret about my kit,i love it,and would recommend it to every one...my best friend owns a infinity g35x with hids, and he likes mine more than the oem ones of his car...i even got stop by a police officer who was amased by the looks and cut-off off it,and wanted to know where i got theses to put some on his car...beleive me,i laught a lot that night,i was sure he was going to fine me,but not at all...(lol2) (lol)

^the quality of the helios product is hands down one of the best. the connections are oe fit and finish. high quality rubber seals, solid snap connectors, the kit is well worth the couple extra bucks more for their kits IMO
