HiBoost new project car

Hasn't the 2.3l been turboed already. Wasn't the 626 MPS turbocharged by Mazdaspeed in Japan? It produced 280hp.

The 2.3 liter in the 6 and the 3 is a brand new motor. New as in it has never been in another car new.

Which 626 are you talking about? The US market 626 came with the FS 2.0 liter.

I know its a totally new motor, but Mazda had a concept car call the MPS. It debute about a year ago and it also used a turbocharged 2.3l motor. I first saw it on www.conceptcarz.com

*Edit* I searched for it again. It was a turbocharged 2.5l

MPS is rather vague...It stands for Mazda performance Series...Which is what the first MP3 prototype was called also.

I looked tried looking on that site and couldn't find the car you mention...

---Edit---

Ok, so I can find a 2000 Mazda 626 MPS. It has a 2.5 liter six, but it says it was normally aspirated.

Here is the link:http://www.conceptcarz.com/folder/vehicle.asp?car_id=1192&autoShowID=&vehicleTypeID=0

The 2002 6 MPS doesn't say what kind of motor, but says normally aspirated also...

Not trying to talk smack, just trying to figure out what car it is you are talking about.

Thje Greddy turbo kit used a TD-05 18g and i am very confident that Juan @ highboost will make equal to or more than the 280BHP that car made that Greddy built. Hiboost is a very capable fabrication commpany so I am excited and wish my dealership would install them.

what's your reason for going with the 4-cylinder instead of the V6?

my guess is that a 4cyl is easier to turbocharge than a v6. cause if you think about it, that'd be some crazy piping job to get the exhaust manifolds to meet up. in any case, it's cool to see more forced induction stuff for the mazda lineup (thumb)

Wouldn't this kit your making juan also fit the mazda 3? Because doesn't the mazda 3 have the same 4cylinder engine as the 6?

didnt the milenium have a 2.3 sc. maybe that was the engine.....

greddy kit @280bhp, wow that wouls be nice in the mazda 3.

keep up the good work hi boost.

i have a few questions about your turbo kit for the p5's. does it have a waste gate and where does the oil pick up line go? is there any need for a blow off valve? is it recommended to have a boost controller and or turbo timer? I'll check back for a reply thanx.

Juan,

I'm very glad to hear you guys are working on the turbo for the 6, hence I'm saving my money for a turbo soon on the 6 I have. Anyway, I was wondering how are you planing on competing your turbo against the Greddy turbo? I'm not doubting HiBoost's quality of work as many of people here can back you up. Though, I like to hear some differences you planing on doing and the Greddy turbo.

Thanks

P.S. Sorry if these questions sound dumb, still learning :P

You guys have had this car for a little while now...How's it coming along? Any Pics?

if your kit will fit a mazda3 2.3 liter....the pikamobile might be looking for a new home :)....might be

"Might" be a trader!:p

No, I thought about that as well...

The kit fitting, just needing different pipes. Not trading in my car.

The kit is already in production. We can't believe how many people want to turbocharge their Mazda6 in South America. We sold our car just 3 days after we finished. We just couldn't refuse the offer. There are already 8 cars running with the system. I will post photos of some of those.

Those cars are using our prototype system. The manifolds are ready as well as downpipe. The intercooler pipes, brackets and some other parts are in production and won't be ready until January. Then we will start selling it as a bolt-on kit.

There will be manifolds for both the IHI turbo and Garrett style turbos with or without remote wastegate for Tial or Turbonetics wastegates.

The kit will include Ball bearing turbo, Spearco/HiBoost intercooler, Haltech F10 or E6X engine management systems, silicone hoses and everything just like our Protege kit.

Juan:D

hell yeah, thats awesome. might have to take a trip to south america, hehehe
