Who has seen this show??

I saw it the other night. It's cool that imports are coming along with their own show, but this show is terrible.

There are three announcers. One Asian girl, one blond girl and some guy. The Asian girl is a decent announcer, the blond good could use a little help and the guy is just a moron.

He tries to talk about a car and it sounds like he is reading directly from a script for the very first time. He doesn't sound natural, he chops up the sentences and needs to figure out what is on the car long before he starts talking about.

He never says what the parts are, he says stuff like, "bigger brakes, bigger turbo and waste gate" bla, bla, bla...

I can understand not saying who makes the parts because the show is sponsored entirely by Pep Boys, and Pep Boys doesn't want to give free advertising to products they don't carry. But still, even if that is the reason, stop being so damn generic. People will be able to identify with whats going on if they know who made the parts.

Oh well, that's just my take. Good idea, bad execution.

Ok, so I did a little research and here is what I got. This show is produced by Brenton Productions. These guys also do Crank & Chrome, and Two Guys Garage. Well, if you go here:

I found the answer to my question about mentioning specific products, sort of. Each manufacturer has to give the jerks money in order for them to be mentioned. Pretty lame, if you ask me.

I also found out the names of the announcers, and the dude is supposed to be the "tech" guy. Cardona, is his last name. Here is website for TV show:

The blond girl is pretty cute, so is the ASIAN (Oriental is for rugs) girl. The dude sounds like an idiot, like he's never hosted a show before

but the funniest part is not the show itself, it's the Pep Boys trying to be 'down with dat' in their commercials. Euro taillights, shift knobs, sub enclosures, and all that other non-performance parts, and have those 3 stupid heads talking like they know what they're talking about, it's pretty funny.

ok maybe not HAHA funny, more like 'oh that's silly' funny

does have some nice show cars though, I'll give them that

I posted my thoughts on this show in another thread...here is a summary...it sucks

They go into less detail than even cheesey mags like super street.

"this booming civic has a big turbo, large rims and a bodykit...check out the strut bar...must handle like a dream"

lol...it's also one big AD...the Asian chick is nice...not amazing...but nice...yeah and they could replace the guy with a monkey.

well i saw the commerical for this show on thenascarchannel or whatever its called now last night during the WRC race. i was accually looking forward to watching it, but now after checking out the website i think i might pass on watching it, just because of how stupid it sounds, all the APC product pushing on the site is too much for me.

I don't know whether to be proud or afraid. I was at a car show and they shot a spot in front of my car for this show. I don't get speedchannel so I haven't seen it. I'll have to look and see if I still have the digital pictures of them shooting the spot.

I took another chance

I watched the first episode when in came out in late May or early June. I don't really remember.

I decided to take another shot at it last night thinking with a few episodes and experience under their belt it would be better.

Man, was I wrong.

I really wish I had recorded it because I would love to watch it again and count how many times the guy used the word "tricked" or "trick" or even the phrase "tricked out".

example.

• This Civic has a tricked out body kit.
• Check out this trick Carbon Fiber Hood.

Trick, Trick, Trick, Trick, Trick, Trick, Trick, Trick, Trick, Trick, Trick, Trick, Trick, I think you get the idea.

I agree that the whole push for APC is a little much.

They have to always zoom to around the back of the car and show those "tricked out" Altezza style lights by the folks at APC. You can get these lights at your local Pep Boys!

The highlight of last night's show was of course the ladies, but also the shots of the Skyline they had brought from Japan for the show. 700 hp!!

The last one I saw the put a stereo in there "In Focus" Project car...It was classic, they said the stereo rocked.

I'm kind of like, "Of course it did you retards, do you honeslty think you would say it sucked??"

It seems kind of cheese. I was thinking of emailing the producer and telling the start over and try it better with new announcers, cut the BS and talk about the cars for real.

Stop trying to reach out the "Fast and Furious" crowd and get in touch with the real performance market.

Also, try telling us what the parts are even if the parts manufacuterer hasn't given you any money and even if Pep Boys doesn't carry it.

I watched it again lastnight too....and I agree 100%....that guy they have is the WORST...I would be willing to bet that before he got that job he had NEVER done anything to a car but drive one. He doesn't seem to even know the lingo...and heard him make NUMEROUS mistakes.....and he still sounds like he is reading his lines off of a card and seeing the words for the first time. gennerally...I think the show sucks....I won't tune in again and waste my time.

I agree. Last night they installed a set of tail lights (APC of course) and a CF Hood on their Project Focus car.

The greatest "enthusist" shows on Speed Channel/Speed Vision/NASCAR TV/ or whatever it is called this week are in my opinion. Shows like Dream Car Garage, 2 Guys Garage, and stuff like that. They tell you what parts the are using, where to get them, what to watch out for during install, etc.

If they had a show like that for imports, that would "rock"!

Yeah, that would be cool. But, the deal is the parts they use pay for the spot to be put on the show. It kind of sucks that way.

But it would still be cool. I've sent an email to the Brenton Productions people to point in the right direction of where to send comments, etc. I'll post the contact once I get it so we can bombard the person letting them know that there are people out there who don't like the show.

oh you can do all that if you want.....just not with that POS tornado thing...lol ..... take your pro, remove all the suspension and drive train, stuff a twin turbo rotory in there with rear wheel drive all attached to a special frame that you attach our unibody too and THEN sneek up on those unsuspecting V-8's! lol THAT would kick some SERIOUS booty!
