hi-flow catalytic converter question

i understand that the p5 has pre-cat and a cat converter...is there anyway i can install a universal hi-flow cat converter and still be smog legal?

if i do this modification would i need to change the pre-cat, cat or both?...and by doing this, will it in anyway affect the o2 sensors?

thanks!

Just get an after-market cat back and you should be straight just pick which exhaust you like me personally like the Thermal

I have not done this yet but I would get a high flow cat and replace the last cat. I talked to a guy at meinekee he said if I do a Header he recommended putting the small Cat or PreCat on and then a high flow cat. He said he did these on a Focus. I am waiting on my pacesetter header.

thanx for the info!

that sounds pretty promising :)...would that set up trip the o2 sensors though?

Hey Glow I would have gone with the Bosal alot of guys that are running the Pacesetter are complaining that they are cracking

Hey Mint it more than likeley will but some one told me to do this put a high-flow cat on right after your header then move the O2 sensors especially the one after the cat

They said with that set up you should still pass emissions Just to let you know that's only from what i've heard I havn't tried that but that is what i'm gonna do when I put my exhaust on

I had one on my escort gt. The first on cracked because it was made in mexico. The free one I got was welded better and never cracked. After 4 years still no problems. Oh it was made in the USA. The pacesetter made more horsepower then the hot shot, gude and one from australia.
