Wich one should I choooose... They are both extremely well engineered...

What I like about HB:
- Cast iron exhaust manifold
- Haltech
- Standard with HKS BOV
- 216 whp

And the MAM:
- GT28R 'Disco Potato'
- Better engine layout for me (esthetically)

Give me your opinions!

actually the GT28RS is the disco potato. It comes with the GT28R, but you can upgrade to the RS. Oh, and by the way- the MAM kit has done 209whp :)
You can also upgrade the BOV on the MAM kit, im sure he can work something out. It also will come with either MPI Tuner or FMU with clamp.

I have to admit the Hiboosts cast iron manifold and haltech kick ass, but the MPI is in more proteges on here so support is better. (kooldino, linux, 505zoom, more run the MPI)

And from what it seems, Juan is quite hard to get ahold of. If you'd ever have issues with the MAM kit, Beau would love to help you. Or I can.

:)

Our kit comes standard with the GT28R.To upgrade to the GT28RS it's an extra $200.You have several different colors of powdering to choose from as well.As for engine management we are now using the MPI tuner. You have control of fuel and timing.
At 6psi(stock exhaust) we made 181whp with it being 90* outside. We dyno'd 2 weeks later late at night(75*) and made 187whp on 6psi.These are SAE corrected numbers.
Alittle over a month ago we were doing alittle tweeking and pushed the boost to 11psi.At 4300RPM's we made 225whp and 265wtq before the motor went boom..I feel we would have made in the 250whp range if we were able to spin to 5500-6000RPM's.

beau, when can we expect this monster to hit the streets, sponsers first of course. thanks!!

The kit for the sponsor is being developed, after that, it will be put on their vehicle for some time to make sure all the issues are fixed and everything is good. this is NOT just a have assed effort of a turbo kit. MAM takes GREAT time and precaution in getting GOOD KITS OUT. This is why we are waiting. We feel that getting a good reliable kit will serve you better than something not well thought of and poorly designed.

(I hate these "vs" threads) :)

Juan is ALWAYS available for his exsisting customers (those that have kits and need support)... he is a busy person, but does not let that affect his existing customer base. I have never had an issue with getting in contact with him on technical issues.

1) Cast Iron Manifold and Downpipe - thick as hell, holds the heat in, will NOT warp
2) Haltech - Windows based operation, F10 and E6X - Tried, tested and has evolved over YEARS and YEARS of use. (not sure about the "not in high performance cars" comment)
3) IHI VF-22 Turbo - Ball Bearing, Larger than the largest T3, Highly effecient
4) Stock Pump and Stock Injectors - Upgradable to 440cc from Juan, no extra injector

Hiboost has years of experience in this business. Juan has customers around the world and has well over 1000 customers.

i have'nt got to check out beau work, but i have had no problems with the hi boost kits and the make good power and the run like stock, i perfer a haltech over a fmu any day

FC3S boy, the kits from MAM will no longer offer an FMU. We are now going to MPI Tuner. :)
nice can't wait to see the final product

Actually, MAM will have your choice of options by the end of summer. The economical MPI tuner and the luxurious AEM ems.

i would say they are both awesome kits. just wanted to clear up that hiboost's standard kit with the f10 makes 230whp with no cats. tons of upgrades are avalible on his kit also. other things i like about the hiboost over the MAM kit is the turbo placement. no worries about burning the underside of the hood...ect...
i will say that the MAM kit is one hell of a complete kit, but i would really like to see some forum members useing the kit. the MAM kit isnt even released yet right? isnt he still testing it?

the street kit is tried and true, Beau has been running it on their P5 for over a year. granted the kit has made some changes since then, but the quality of the craftsmanship is inhearant in everything MAM puts its name on.

absolutely, we don't want to approach this by just throwing a poorly engineered kit out, we'd like to make absolutely sure there are MINIMAL drawbacks, or none, if possible. Instead of just slapping a box on a turbo and calling it a day, we're making sure its a long term bolt on.

I finally ordered my Highboost kit with the E6X. Ordered it a couple days ago when can I expect to see it? Will it take about 2 weeks? I asked him to send it FedEx. Can't wait to seriously rip some GT Mustang's a new hole (laugh)

Juan has a good supply of product on hand (from what I understand)....it didn't take very long from when I sent the MO to when I got it....

Congradulations!

Thanx, Yeah he told me had everything in stock. I PM'd him to let me know when he will ship it outbut haven't recieved his PM just yet. Just wondering how long it would take. Thanx YP5
