You should always be aware of 1 word in particular: STYLE. All they have to do is include that word & they can use any other description they want, often leading people to believe it's something it's not.
you should be oiling any sri filter k&n or k&n style, the k&n style don't come oiled so you must do it yourself.(drinks) bye the way that hks is bad ass I bet it will work fantastic, let us know

well, if someone wants to be the admin for the GB let us know otherwise within about a week I am going to buy an actual HKS,S&B or Apexi filter for my intake.

I know for a fact my couplers are silicone and not plastic, my clamps did suck but I had about 50 more int he garage and the piping itself seems to be pretty darn thick steel although I dont know what grade, I do know I tightened the clamps like whoa and not even a chance of it bending appeared.

What I plan to do is swap out the filter like I said and then rune a tube from under the car through the hole so it points toward the filter blowing cool air at it. Im not going to attatch it tot he end of the filter and I will be using an aluminum screen at the beginning of the tube to block debris or anything coming into the tube. Maybe some cheese cloth or soemthing also for smaller debris.

Eh we'll see how it goes.

hey what do u guys think of these, they put alot of stuff on ebay and some of their products look nice, i was looking at a set of cnc machined blue aluminum pedals(dont know why i have brushed aluminum typeR pedals now) and the filters look really nice and they claim to be better than k&N but they all do...it does say style next to all of them but I emailed them asking what the filter material and housing was made of.

If you have to question the quality, in my opinion it's not worth it. As KYREDP5 stated, John at Intensemotorsports was helpful and I thought the pricing wasn't too bad considering.

If you haven't bought a filter yet, I will contact John and see about the GB again (he was willing). I'll volunteer as admin.

out of curiosity, if it is just the filment, would you be able to buy the ebay filter and then go to nopi .com and just buy the hks filiment. If it is just the filment which it should be you can buy just the hks foam filment by itself.

Actually the "eBay filters" are pleated and cone shaped, but the "filament", if you will, is typically paper or low grade, single-ply cotton gauze (K&N and S&B and other, better quality filters have up to 7 layers within an aluminum - read: non-rusting - meshes).

You cannot replace the "filament" on a pleated, cone filter without destroying the filter altogether.

Just get good quality, foam or pleated cotton, from the beginnning......saves time and money and the frustration of making something fit that wasn't supposed to be to begin with.
