help with driver side axle

pulling my motor/tranny, passanger side axle was as easy as could be, a wedge and hammer and it popped right out, driver side not so much, any tips?

Crap - the ONE thread which directly addresses my question, and it's 2 years old with no answers.

I've got my car torn apart to change the driver's side wheel bearing. Axle is frozen in the hub so I'm trying to remove the half-shaft from the transmission. I cannot figure out how to leverage the pry bar and get the axle out. Suggestions???

I *think* I used a prybar between the tranny and axle to get mine out. Otherwise you can just pull REALLY hard and it should just pop out.
