Help with aftermarket rim question

I bought my MSP with a set of ADR spade wheels on the car. the problem is, with any amount of weight in the back of my car they rub like crazy, it doesn't seem to damamge the tires too much. but it is a very annoying thing. From what I can tell the only problem is the offset of the tire. With some further research I found out that the offset for the ADR rim is 40mm. Then I was searching around here, and found someone that said the offset for the stock rim was 55mm?? So at this point I am totally lost, could someone give me a little insight into this little problem, and any solutions you can think of. And just in case the ADR rims are 17x7 with a 40mm offset. i believe that any wheel you get needs at least a 45mm offset. do a search for 'msp wheels' , or something like that, and see what it yields.

The maximum offset you can have on an MSP/MP3 on 17's with 17/215/45 is +45. If you go with 18's its +48.

Take your rims to a rim shop and have them shave them to the right offset.

You can try to go to 17/205/40 tires, that might fix it too.

Actually, these are the P5 specs...the sedan can run 2-3 mm lower (see Rishie's guide). You should even be able to use 17x7 +42 with 215/45-17.

So I can take it to a shop and have them shave off the offset? I'm a pretty seasoned car guy, but I've never dealt with wheel problems before. So what kind of shop should I be able to do this at.

what size tires are you running? with a lil fender roll you might be okay...
