Hello All,
I just replaced my OEM HU in my 2013 CX-5 Sport AWD (no Bose) w/ a Pioneer AppRadio 4 (SPH-DA120). I'm using a Metra 7903 harness adapter, a Metra backup cam, Honda antenna adapter and finally the Axxess ASWC-1. All connections are crimped and secure. My problem is with the steering wheel control configuration. The way I have the ASWC-1 wired (which I was told to do by a technician from Axxess) is:
- Black > shares ground with the AppRadio and 7903 harness adapter
- Red > shares power with ^^
- White/Green > military spliced into the wire coming out of pin 1N on actual vehicle's harness
- Then he told me to remove about 6inches of one of the unused wires on the ASWC-1, connect one end (via military splice) to the wire coming out of pin 1P on my actual vehicle's harness, then connect the other end of that to chassis ground (just behind the HU, the bottom screw designed to secure the base of the OEM HU).
- The last step, because I want to use my steering wheel BT controls, was to run the Grey/Blue wire via military splice to the wire coming out of pin 1H on the actual vehicle's harness.
After following all of these steps and the exact setup instructions 2-3 times, the ASWC-1 still did not configure. I tried (per another technician's instruction) connecting the black ASWC-1 wire to the same chassis ground that I have the wire from pin 1P running to, but that didn't work either. I realize this very likely could be an issue with the way the AppRadio 4 and the ASWC-1 interact, however AXXESS told me that they have not had a single issue with the ASWC-1/AppRadio 4 in a 2013 CX-5 and have plenty of successes.
Thoughts? Any advice will help!
