HELP!!!Stuck withCobb spring install

Hey all.....I am a total newbie trying to put on Cobb springs. I have had great luck following the instructions on this forum up to this point. I can't seem to get the strut bolt off (the one with the allen wrench top). I have used a ton of anti seize and spray to try to get this off to no avail. I only have simple allen wrench (do I need a special tool?) Please help......

I ran into the same issue myself. It is annoying, but you will have to put the strut assembly back into the car and attach at least 2 of the 3 bolts up top (doesn't have to be all that tight). Then bust the bolt loose that you are having the issues with. Be very careful not to undo it completely, just break it loose. Then take the assembly back out and compress the spring again and undo the bolt the rest of the way.

or you can use an impact wrench, works like a charm!

Yes, the impact wrench would work as well. I am assuming, like myself, he does not have access to the tools that would make this install simpler.

You could probably rent one (Electric Impact), also you do have the spring compressed right?

Thanks for the help guys...I will try out that out in the morning. I am using a spring compressor but you were correct in assuming that I don't have an impact wrench. Thanks again.

a hint.
Every car i do spring installs for.
a hint with the allen int he strut top with a nut. means if tight the strut will spin.

First thing i always do before i lift a car. is break those nuts loose first. Ussually with the weight of the car. They will break easy. I always do that first!

thanks guys for the help....I ended up reattaching the strut to the chassis attachment and using a rachet to break the bolt loose...unfortunately as i took apart the strut there is a cracked rubber part that bears weight from the strut (part 34-111). Has anyone heard of this part being faulty? It was clearly broken from wear and tear and not my work. (boom01)

That is not cool. Be sure to replace it. Which side was it?
