HELP...name my dog.

I need a name for my dog, its a male Newfoundland (like a black st. bernard). He will be very big about 150lbs and I need a powerful name that isn't silly. My wife and I are out of ideas. He'll be shipping here from Idaho in about a week. So far we've been thinking Cornelius, Andre, Adabesee, or Ferdinand. Let me know what you think. Thanks for your help.

Okay, this is gonna sound stupid, but ..

The first name that honestly popped into my head was 'Jager'. Yes, as in Jagermeister.

I've owned dogs and fostered dogs for quite a few years, and they say that for large-sized dogs where you have to get their attention fast, it's good to have a hard 'a' or 'e' sound in the start of their name. That way, when you yell, that 'A!' or 'E!' makes them stop dead in their tracks.

And 'Jager' was what popped into my head, that has a very hard 'a' in the beginning.

And that'd be awesome to scream off your porch at night. "JAGER!!!"

awww.. newfies are the best! I had one as a kid. My sister named her "bear" because it looked like a bear cub.

If I had another one I'd probably keep the bear theme going, naming it either Kodiak or Yogi.
