Was wondering if anyone can help me out. I have a real problem with tar on my car. I dont want to put flaps on because i think it will decrease the looks on the car. Anyone else having this problem.

Maybe some kind of wax or something to make the tar stick less???

man, just buy the bug and tar remover wipes, they work great, not topo much elbow grease(for the lazy one, like myself too), but they are the best thing goin!

You might go as far as using ebony glaze with the wax. This is what gives your car that wet look. I have found that my car is much more resistant to the tar. So now i can use the $3.00 bug and tar remover and it works fine.

I'll give my idea again. Try Honda Pro-Clean. Find it at a motorcycle shop(honda dealer). It will take it off like nothing else. It also does a bit of waxing for you so it will come off easier the next time.
Great stuff, and it's usually about $5/can.

I love the "wet" look. I wash the car and give a good polish and wax job but I would like the high gloss wet look. Where can I get ebony glaze? I have looked for stuff (not specifically ebony glaze) at my local auto parts store but no luck.

I don't bother asking the clerk either because they either know or don't care. They ride their bicycle to work an auto parts store!

Liquid Ebony is probably one of the BEST products I have ever used. Yes, glazes are what gives your car the wet look. I had a thread started a while back regarding detailing but it got buried. I have forever made mention of this stuff (Liquid Ebony). Not everyone can get ahold of it, but if you were to go to a parts store that sells paint, you are sure to find it. You will NEVER find the stuff in Pep Boys, or Auto Zone, or chains like that.

However, any glaze will work, but you need to wax after you glaze. Waxing and regular maintainence will make removal of tar easier.

Meguires has one too....its called their MIRROR GLAZE #7. that you can usually find at the REGULAR chain stores....

I also swear by Liquid Ebony. My dad used that stuff on his old '61 Rolls. Works like a charm with the orbital. It sloughs off the dead paint & blemishes and hardly shows spiralling. I have yet to use it on the Mazda. I dunno where you could buy it. I'll ask my pops about it later...

I hear ya Sir Nuke, a lot of people have Glazes, but The Liquid Ebony stuff is far and away better, it is in a class by itself
