the problem is that the car is running weird....it idles fine no CEL...but after driving it it starts to go crazy...it will turn of completely....like it doesnt have fuel or something...i have checked all connections, no leaks.....i have lowered mf2 all the way to lean..i have even disconnected mf2 completly....any ideas on what the problem might be? after it starts acting up it gives me CEL...damnit this sucks big pelotas....

...to me it seems to happen when you are driving and then go into neutral. like if you are in 3rd and you are getting to a light and you put in neutral and brake...thats when it happened to me. when i left it in gear, the car had a ROUGH idle, but didnt die. good luck sir...

If you DO get a CEL, go to autozone and have them check the code for free and that will get you somewhat of an idea.

The ECU is not a turbo tunned ECU. That will happen from time to time (sometimes more depending on where your idle is set). When you are boosting, and let off, the ECU will freak out for a sec, and then get it together. You may need to check for vaccum leaks.

damn had not thought of that...will do it later on today......linux.....would the vacuum leak just suddenly "appear"? cause i checked everything...damnit its pissing me off....damn i have a headache.........let me get a drink.....

holy shananigans!!!!!i ******* found the problem...after alot of ******* around to figure out problem i figured it out....when the maf is connected its acts goofy...when its disconnected it is fine....just that to start car you have to give it some gas...damnit.....this really sucks...anyone have any ideas on what the problem is?....now that i have figured what it is....timing maybe...i dunno....anyone of you know what it is? i cant even think straight anymore.......

Maybe, just maybe you can solve it by resetting your ECU? Sounds to me MAF signal when you decel freak to ECU out with boosted air and then the fuel injector could not keep up fast enough?

How about the o2 sensor checked that too? I hope I helped a little....

reset the ecu alot of times already...disconnected battery for 2 mins then connected back on....checked o2 sensor already...maybe the o2 similator is not working.....

EDIT: if i disconnect maf will i have problems in the future?...i am a newb...

anyone?....

give perfwork a pm maybe he can give you some input. I personally think that removing the MAF will not work because that's the unit to tells the ECU how much air is going in and combine that with the o2 sensor reading and such the ECU will adjust fuel injection cycle accordingly. BTW I believe you have to stay disconnected for at least 10 minutes for the ECU to completely reset

Maybe you could consider getting some gauges to monitor your system (i.e. vaccum/oil pressure/air fuel ratio/boost etc....)

How does the car run w/ no MAF?

it runs good without it.....just that every now and then it will go into really low rpms..but runs almost like stock...

linux: backwards?....

Yes, backwards. I forget who did this. (Linux?) The MAF is just a tube. If you install the tube backwards, you can have some serious stalling issues. "Backwards" would be intake side facing the TB, and TB side facing the intake, so the flow of air would be moving through the MAF in the opposite direction that it is supposed to.
The "after driving" thing makes me think it could be a leak after the MAF, which could happen once the car warms up and the ECU changes from cold to hot running.

The car can run w/out an MAF, technically. It will run based upon input from the O2 sensor (for rich/lean after the fact) and other sensors on the car. It is not SUPPOSED to run like that, of course, but it can.

Lastly, to properly reset the ECU, you must drain the capacitors. When you disconnect, depress your brake pedal 10-15 times. This may have no effect.

Lastly, if you have the means, just run compressed air through the system and listen for leaks. I would say that 75% of the folks that had initial problems with their turbos found the problem to be a vac leak somewhere, often AFTER checking every fitting.

This could be true ESPECIALLY if you had no stalling issues at install. Something may have come loose, a situation that I know has happened to Linux and a bunch of other folks.

well today i removed the tap from fuel line that i was using for extra injectors....now after releasing from 4K-6Krpms it will idle at like 400rpm, it is steady for about 4sec. then it goes to 1K....also it does not shutdown anymore....could it be the fuel pump?.....any other ideas?
EDIT: also maf is not backwards......
