help me if you can!!

alright first of all i just changed my oil but i put what jiffy lube always has put in and that is penzoil 5w30 and its not synthetic. my idle when i start it goes up to 2000 and down to about 100 200? should i change to full synthetic or what? and if its not the oil that has anything to to with it then i dont know what is goin on

That idle is not normal, and 4.5 is overfull. What is your oil pressure at?

everything is reading fine! and i lied i actually put 4 qrts in but bought 4.5!
but now everything is fine and back to normal. i dont know what the hell happened but its weird

Why are you putting penzoil oil in your car? Not sure if I am mixing up penzoil with soemthing else. But I have heard alot of bad things about penzoil oil. Something about having alot of wax in it. I had a buddy who had always ran penzoil oil. Ended up bending a valve. (Not due to the oil). But pulled the head off to get repairs done. And you could see all the wax totally coating the inside of the head.

yeah it is penzoil that does that but the dude at mazda said that was fine and i even knew about the wax thing. next change im switching to valvaline

i think your first problem was using jiffy lube and not doing it your self...my friend used ti work at jiffy lube and he told me people there **** around with your car...sometimes all they'll do is pour more oil or even nothing at all...therre was even a news report on jiffy lube...the reporter brought his car in and they didnt do any work at all...because he put a smily face on the filter and when he got the car back it still had the smilly face...second case was a co-worker had his car worked on and they didnt tighten his oil pan nut and leak oil everywhere and cracked his engine!!!....BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD service at jiffy

"I called mazda and they said not to run full synthetic until about 90,000-100,000 miles!"

Retarded. Synthetic can be used at any time, and with regard to a turbocharged engine, the sooner the better. Waiting until 90K is just begging for leaking seals due to deposits left behind by conventional oil. It doesn't happen to everybody, but it does happen.

As far as your idle situation, I have a hard time believing that a 1-qt overfill is causing erratic or low idle. One quart adds what...1/2 inch to the overall oil level in the pan? That's not enough to cause considerable drag on the crank, if the crank is impacting the oil at all. If this engine is equipped with an idle air control valve, that's where I'd start the diagnosis.

yeah i heard about jiffy lube but i went there because some guy that was like a manager or one of the higher guys had a car like mine and he gave me a deal.

oh and i would never use royal purple in my car unless it was built, so im gonna go with what the tech said at mazda,,,,, valvaline or maybe mobil1
