help me figure out this problem

my p5 is throwing this code after i removed the vtcs===>> (P0171)

my car idles low 500-700... it fills like is going to die on me every time im in a red light......

i replaced my 02 sensor and is still throwing the same code, now im thinking of replacing my maf sensor as it could also be defective.....

i have one question about this problem before i replace the maf sensor

whats the odds that my maf sensor is good thinking about that there is more air going through because i remove the vtcs?

i read through some threads and some guys where having the same problem one of them swapped the mp3 ecu to his p5 and the problem went away....
should i try this first??

Faulty readings from other sensors such as a Mass Air Flow Sensor. You may actually be getting more air than the MAF tells the computer

you dont remove the sensor you just leave the sensor hooked p and run a short vacuum line looped and there you go no cel

yeah....leave the sensor pluged in to the wiring harness....pull the 'T' off the vac lines that goto the vtcs/vics sensors and then run a straight hose to the vics only

Disconnect the battery and pump the brakes to reset the ECU and clear the CEL also.
