Hi guys.
Having a new issue today and wanted some help figuring this out:
Where do I start? The car is far from stock....
This afternoon it decided not to crank over after I had been driving it around all day. Weird thing is, I could get lights to come on by wiggling the key and shifter (i have sport shift auto), but if I stepped on the brake *Poof* no dash lights etc. Checked the under hood fuse box and did not notice anything obvious.
Jump was successful. yay
Drove down street, turned on A/C. *Poof* it shuts it ALL down. No power steering or brake. I coast to a stop.
Key is now locked into ignition and trans won't come out of Neutral-Drive positions into Park. Same behavior as before, won't crank, lights come on when u work key in ignition.
Next jump successful.
The AAA guy said he saw a big voltage drop when we turned on the A/C but it didn't die. I turned car around to leave and it died again. It's going to be towed.
I have had similar intermittent starting issues when an exposed O2 sensor wire shorted out while rubbing against something.
Any input or suggestions?
I am really wondering if the lockout feature on the trans and brake is interfering somehow.
