this happened once and i thought nothing of it. I threw a CEL with the code reading PCM 2119. when this code was thrown my car has no throttle response. i cleared it everything was fine. i literally just 2 mins ago washed my car went to start it and had a CEL. so nifty me grabbed my AP out of the glove box and read the code. PCM 2119 again! however now it wont clear and i dont know what it is. my car has been driving fine although it has been exceptionally wet this past week with rain everyday. anyone who can shead some light on the situation please do. i kinda neeed to move my car lol

Quick Google search turned up "P2119 Throttle Actuator Control Throttle Body Range Performance". Some models even report a "limp mode" that limits RPM.

Haven't found out the how or why yet, but fuel or plugs may be an issue.

i put step colder plugs in like 15k maybe more and i always get premium hmmm i'll go outside and see if she's done trowing a cel fit

okay so just went out and cleared the code and it went away....hmmm...i wonder if this solid week of rain and or me washing my car is to fault. i never had this problem until it rained for days on end. sound normal?

Doesn't sound normal but is there any chance you got water on a connection, perhaps where the throttle body is at the front end of the engine? You didn't shampoo the engine recently did you?

Shampooing an engine is a def no-no.

I did notice on my other car that water had somehow gotten inside where my plugs are at. I am incredulous as to how water got in there! There is a raised lip on the head where each plug goes, and rubber seals that go over the lips. Plugs were rusted to hell and I had to replace them and the wires as well. This one has me (scratch)

But yea, check the plugs, the iridiums in my Prelude seemed to foul up over the course of 3000 miles.

Maybe a bit off the OP's topic, but the most common cause of fouled Iridium plugs is running a heat range that is too cold.

Heat range too hot = detonation
Heat range too cold = fouling

hmmm valid points i will pull the lugs and look but since the inccident it hasnt happened but it also hasnt rained since i shall investigate. on a second note has anyone grounded their throttle body?

Yeah, the rain sucked horribly last week! Was in the middle of changing my plugs when it decided to shower on Thursday! As for the TB ground, here is the link to the thread. I thought at first it was pointless bc it was plastic, but i had a brain fart and its aluminum providing the ground already. http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123631517&page=3

Check and see if the throttle plate is sticking. With the car off you should be able to push it open. You might need to clean it/lube it up

I've had this same code p2119 twice now. The throttle plate area in the throttle body does have some carbon. Has anyone taken off and cleaned their throttle body? And did it work? Or does it end up being the tps sensor that is part of this throttle body?

new here but got the same trouble each time my battery drop in cold weather

I have to re-map the pcm to get ride of the cel code

I'm going to buy a new battery tonight and will tell what happen next

I sometimes forget the AP powered on in the car for several days and it's too much
