hey everyone. last night, i helped my friend install skunk2's on his 3d gen protege, 2003. he bought the skunk2's from dakinep5 (a forum member) at it came from a protege 5.

okay, well we SLAMMED the front all the way down, but still had a 2/3 finger gap??? then we RAISED the BACK all the way up and it still tucks???

any ideas? help?

we put the shorter and thickers springs in the front but idk if we should switch the silver part with all the threading used to adjust the height.

thanks! - chris

I had Skunk's on my car and they went right in...The only thing I can suggest is to pull the rims off and take a few pics and post them on here. It would make it easier to understand what might have gone wrong.

ive got them on mine and i dont have that problem. which instructions did you follow. i had the ones that came with it but chose to follow the ones in the how to of this forum. i figured id go off of someones instructions that had done it right and taken pictures. but yeah post some pics and we'll help you as much as possible.

thanks guys

well thanks to pirana we used his instructions

plus i did my car recently, so i knew what i was doing when i was helping him.

but the wierd thing... his sideskirts are level, but the rear looks much more slammed than the front because it tucks. i guess the fender is lower than the front? but idk.. ill try post pics soon, but i think hes gonna try work the kinks out today. thanks!!! - chris

This is a picture of my front with the Skunk's on...I believe I had it down as far as it would go, or within a 1/4" of that...Horrible camber/tire wear by the way:)

And here is a shot of the rear, but I could have gone down almost another inch I believe(it's been a while since I had them on)...

whao thanks dude! the size of the rims shouldnt matter right? because his stock rims are only 15in vs your 17in. thanks a lot for your help - chris

No, rim size shouldn't matter...The bigger the rim, the skinnier the tire, but the overall height is close to equal. The finger gap would still be there if he was on 17's. Any chance you could get some close up pics of the struts/springs with the tires off the car??

this is what mine looked like with skunk2 all the way down. the fenders are just cut more up on the front. blew my rear struts in less than 5 months though :-)
