well recently i sold my msp to funkybuddha...and got an suv but now miss ripping it around in a small car, just here to ask about teh ms3

is there any pro and cons i should know about?

pros:
one of the highest hp and best performance vehicle in it's class

cons:
fwd

my 2 cents...there's a lot more things i can think of but they would mostly pertain to my likings

I'm pretty sure it is the highest HP and best performance vehicle in it's "class" being a sport compact under 25k

From my experience riding in one:

Pros:

As fast a daily driver ad you will ever need (especially with CAI and exhaust), very good fit & finish, 4 doors, hatch utility, well equipped, relatively low profile.

Cons:

Motor mounts, the occasion bad turbo seal, somewhat weak aftermarket, the loan you will need to take out to pay for all your speeding tickets

the dodge calibur srt-4 actually has more hp at 285, less torque at 265
all others i consider in it's class being other forced induction fwd vehicles like the vw gti, mini cooper type s, cobalt ss, scion tc with dealer installed turbo option

Okay you're right about the HP part but the Mazdaspeed3 "is" not just "one of the best performance buys in the under 25k sport compact class

interesting would you guys i dunno this is a mazda forum so what woudl you guys rather have ms3? or a 02 bmw m3? hahaha

that depends...im sure there are a bunch of die hard mazda fans on this forum, but im not one of them. i actually don't have a specific manufacturer that i stick to

for me, i used to have a regular mazda3 gt, and i really loved all it's options compaired to the other cars i was looking at. unfortunatley it was totalled in an accident. but instead of just getting the same model i wanted more hp, and really the ms to me is a huge bargain for it's performance.

02 BMW M3
0-60 - 4.5 secs
1/4 Mile - 13.1@105 mph

It's an awesome car but I wouldn't buy one used.

The new one I would love to have!

i can agree with that....and i guess i really should have said r32 instead of gti....which still got beat by the ms3 around a track at like $8k more
