Hello MSP forum

Ahh, NO... the Type R was welded differently from the factory.

OP, welcome to the party. What is going on with your Miata? The miata is one of the most reliable cars out there.

Yeah what this guy said. ITR had a different chassis code I think due to some welded reinforcements in the frame, that's why I was wondering if the MSP was the same way compared to a Protege. But I guess it's the same though.

As for my Miata, I've just had a bunch of things take a dump on it at once while I've just been daily driving it for a few months. I've repaired stuff but it just all happened one after another and I still have some other issues to take care of that I just want to be rid of it. I really don't like it much anyways. I'm more of a FWD and AWD guy LOL.

Okay I'm going to go test drive one in my area this week. Looks to be stock except for an ITR shift knob.

Ok you are right. I just read up on it. I had totally forgotten about the 3 spots that are thicker/made stronger for the Type R ( 7 Key points on the Type R Chasis ). Also excluded was the moonroof for strength.

Welcome. I was in the honda community for awhile. I owned a 95 prelude. It was a good reliable car. But its not as unquie as a msp. When i got rid of my protege i didnt see a msp on the road for 3yrs straight. So i just had to get one. And im happy with my decision. Integras and nice cars. They're just plentiful.

What part of the Bay are you at? I'm over in the East Bay.

Also I'm planning on test driving this MSP: http://www.sprintautosalesonline.co...7cb454ca128/2003-Mazda-MAZDASPEEDProtege.aspx

Does this look familiar to anyone? Just wondering if it was owned by someone from here.

Looks like a nice car, but for reference I just paid 6500 for a car exactly like that, Titanium 03.5 with 86000 miles. I wouldn't pay more than 7 for that car.
