Hi everybody,

I just picked up an 11 Speed 3 yesterday. What a fun car. Quite an adjustment coming from an Impala. I do have a couple questions though:

My previous stick shift experience was in an old beater Isuzu Rodeo... How long does it take to get used to this sporty clutch? I keep jerking the car around engaging first esp. on an incline.
Also, what should I watch out for? Has the collective experience of the board unearthed any trouble spots I should be mindful of?

Welcome to the forum! There really isn't anything special you can do to get used to the clutch. It'll just take time.

As far as common issues, I haven't come across anything until you begin modding. Mazda tuned the car to the point where the stock fuel pump is maxed out at stock boost. So once you start adding parts that up the stock boost, you're taxing the fuel pump. So I'd plan mods carefully. Of course its all a moot point if you don't plan on modding.
