Hello everybody I'm new to this forum but not new to the mazda/ford scene since we kinda share engine/chassis (mazda3=mk2 focus) though ya'll do get the VCT. I finnally convinced my wife to get a Mazda5 after letting her get a Pacifica which got 15mpg and took $60 bucks to fill up back when gas was a whole dollar cheaper! I"m glad we waited though cause now we have the new 5speed auto which I think is great except for 2nd being a little too tall. Other than that I love the 5 and I'm not afraid to admit has a man I like this van(drinks). I've been a 4yr member of Focusfanatics.com. Now I have a mazda ...well my wife's but I have to use since the ole' focus broke when I was at the track. I loved racing and participated whenever time and money allowed. Now that I"m tired of the ole' focus and fixing it is going to cost some more limbs that I don't have I decided to go with the speed3. I just waiting to hear about the financing hopfully everything will go through. Well I think I typed enough so far I like the forum its got me pretty (stoned) on mazda's lol

Hi and welcome! You'll like your 5. It will drive and handle light years better than any minivan out there, and has more usable room than anything else the same size.

^^^whoa I liked it before I even drove it! The only problem was convinceing my wife about. What more could you ask for in a car/van. It handles so well. my focus was good after I added the SVT kit to it but the 5 came out of the box swinging! I have to remind myself sometimes of what I'm in so I'm not throwing it into corners too hard lol. Not that I don't think it can't take it. Cause it is the family car lol

Just remember, the 3rd row seats don't have bolsters in them.... Although the 2nd rows keeps people pretty planted through the twisties... Just don't have you 5 in the shop, cause they give you a 3 as a loaner and it handles that much sweeter ;-)

lol well I'm trying to get a speed3 just waiting on the finance to go through. I knew that it would be a good handling car to begin with it has a good lineage. Has in its made from the 3 which in turn is made from the MK2 focus in europe. Ford is so stupid for not bringing it over here. Look at the 3 and how good it is that could be the focus but no the bean counters want to be pansy's and this is why they are going under. They keep all the cars that america would love and keep them across the ponds. Don't even get me started on what awesome cars they have in the land down under. But thank goodness they let mazda have it so we could at least have a decent small car over here.
