Heater problems and fresh air button not working!

Hello Mazda friends! My heat is not working for my 07 Mazda 3 i Sport.

The relay fuse is not the problem, already checked that. And I don't think it's the thermostat. I'm confident it's related to the fresh air intake/circulation button. When the heat does work, i can press the air circulation button and it lights up. When the heat doesn't work, which is 95% of the time, that button won't light up.

Is there a fuse that controls that button? Or is there a wire i need to check? I'm broke for another couple of weeks and would like to have heat asap. Please help. Thanks!

If memory serves me right, I believe the recirc will only light up/work depending on what function you have selected (def/floor, just vents, just floor, etc). I could be wrong but I thought I had the same "problem" in my reg 3...try the recirc on each setting and see what happens. Your heat should work, regardless though so I could be way off.

that solved the issue. the air can not be on winshield function if i want internal air circulation to light up and work. But, in cold weather (below 30 degrees F) my heat system blows. I hardly get any hot air, just cool room temp air. I don't believe all 2007 M3's were manufactured this way. Do you guys think its the thermostat? Should I take a risk and have it fixed? Winters almost over so if it's the thermostat, i assume my ac will have problems too right? or over heat issues?

I also don't think the thermostat is the problem here. Your engine would have overheated by now if it is not opening.
Is your temperature knob/switch turned all the way to hot (red) side?

I'm not sure how cold it is where you are, but your thermostat could be the issue. If it were stuck in the open position and it is cold enough outside, then your coolant system would be running cooler than normal.

As mentioned above, it could be an air pocket in the system. Did you check to make sure your coolant is topped up?

I see this thread was started in Feb, but the OP is the one who revived it...
