Heat Controls

Hey guys, when I press the off button on the heater/AC, the arrow doesn't disappear on the dash and it still blows a little even though the fan is off and disappears. I'm not 100% positive but I thought when I first bought the car that pressing the off button would make the arrow pointing to the person on the dash disappear. Can someone check their heat controls and see if yours does the same thing? I want to make sure I don't have a problem, but I swear when I first bought the car the arrow on the dash would disappear when the system was off.

Thanks!

Tim

OFF does turn the system OFF, but the little seated person is still present, so is the vent selector setting. If you press recirculate, it will keep the air from coming out of the vents when moving. The air forcing it's way into the vehicle is what you're feeling, recirculate cuts that off.

What I found interesting is that even when not in AUTO, sometimes you can still change the fan speed when you adjust the temp...

I've noticed this only true when AUTO was controlling the fan speed. I think the auto computer has more of an infinite control over the fan speed, whereas the manual settings are limited to 7 or so (can't remember the number of bars). The last fan speed the AUTO was at will change to the preset setting when the user takes control over it.
