Headlights are very dim

I bought my daughter a new Mazda 6 in 2005 and we have been very unhappy with the projector type headlights, they are very dim while driving, I would say even to the point of being unsafe, has anyone ever heard of this problem?

I'll give the dealer a chance to look into it, they claim they haven't heard of any complaints like this, I would love to have them drive the car at night so they can experience it showing up at the dealer in the daytime isn't the answer.

Is there anything else we can do to improve the light output?

are they misaimed? maybe the bulbs are bad?

I would say try different bulbs, or replace the OE's and see if there's a difference. Sometimes even if there's only a little bit of dirt on the headlight fixture that can make the lights seem dim. So make sure those fixtures are clean. If either of those don't work warranty should cover you. Good luck!
