in theory a 4-2-1 header would be better. in reality there is virtually no difference, 1 to 2 hp at best difference between the two. i have driven proteges with both.

bottom line, you really cannot even get a 4-2-1 header for this car anymore so that renders the debate academic. if you could obtain one, it would be more expensive (about twice the cost) and not really get you anything more than a 4-1 design.

i wish someone would make another 4-2-1 like my racing mazda i have on the p5. i love that header...not that i notice much difference between it and the obx i have on the mp3...but i like the design more. maybe i can find someone that can make one for me

Yeah but if everything goes to plan, my Protege won't be in the Wichita area much longer. I've got my sights set on the Denver area and I know they do emission testing there.

I jumped on the OBX GB with Ken. I guess if it does fail in Colorado, I'll put the factory manifold back on and go get it re-tested and then swap it back out afterwards. Kinda of a PITA, but oh well.

Mazda is still showing them on the mazdamotorsports.com site. $499 I believe is the advertised price, but i have not checked on availability. Sounds like the obx is fine for a street car.

lol shure dude sounds fun i was playing around in a parken lot about 2 weeks ago and the day after i was in 5th gear on 235 heading to work and the cv accel came out.... i think me playing around caused it. well sence i bought it from the dealer like 3days ago i made him fix every thing on it... but i finaly got it back to day happyer then ever but shure ill go sunday never had been befor but all ways wanted to go!!! whats your name and number and ill meet u donw there!
