Header

I was lookin on some sites to see if anything new came out for our p5. I went to nopi.com and saw that APC has a 4-1 ceramic coated header available. its listed for about $180. I also saw that HP Racing has a header available for the 2001-2002 protege sedan model. It's a 4-2-1 either polished chrome or ceramic coated for about $180-$200. I was wondering since the p5's engine is based on the EX models, will the header fit the p5? Also any opinions, info and suggestions on the headers would be great.

Thanx

APC is short for American Piece of Crap, and the HP header is a no show.

American Piece of Crap? I'm sure that not one of their parts is made in America.
You've heard of sweatshop clothing, now there's sweatshop sport compact parts.

Hello Rippa and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. (stash)

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!! (stash)

as for the header.....just remember.....the headers or at least MOST of the headers that are out completely replace the cats....thus making your car NON-emmisions legal. and many of the ones that are our there, are for racing applications and not intended for street use....thus they don't have all the necessary connections on them for O2 sensors and the like....thus you will be getting a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT that will not go away as soon as you crank up the car....just a few things to look into and consider when buying a header for your car.

happy hot rodding!

Dunno I think our cars have the cat mounted right under the manifold causing problems for aftermarket header installs. Might have to relocate the cat and fabricate something for the 02 sensor. BLAH! Though I could be wrong....anyone know.

Besides headers usually don't add much HP. Sport Compact car did a test of like 10 top aftermarket companies and their headers. Most only gained 2-5 hp, and some even LOST HP. Unless your going force-induction you might be better off staying stock.
