Im putting a 1.6 miata engine im my b2200.Was wondering if a header for a 94-99 1.8 will fit the 1.6.I was looking on ebay for headers and i dont thing the long tube 1.6 will work.I dont think it will tuck under the frame and i fear i will damage it when i air the truck down.Any imput would be great.

thanks

The 1.8L header will NOT fit a 1.6. The 1.8 is slightly longer.

Racing Beat makes a header for the 1.6 which is one of the best you'll find. However, it's a bit pricey.

The routing between the 1.8 and 1.6 headers are nearly identical. Both tuck up closely to the transmission bellhousing.

If you're not looking for performance, the stocker might work for you. It is a tubular header in a 4-1 configuration. The collector is a bit small, but it shouldn't matter if you're not looking for performance. I have several lying around if you need one.

Through a quick search, the only short Miata headers that I could find were for turbo applications. However, that may provide a quick and dirty way of making something work for you in tight spaces.

Attached are a few images of a stocker.

hmm, the header from a 1.6L FWD mazda would be a true shorty. You'd just have to fab up a downpipe / exhaust for it. That said, using the stock upper portion of the 1.6L Miata header is probably your best bet.

That's a good point too. Such can be found to work with the 91-94 Mercury Capri (non-xr2) and the MX3 (RS?).
