Has this happened to anyone? Help

I have a silver 4door MAzda3. I love it. it is only 3mths old and today I had a strange thing happen...

i was driving thru a strore parking lot slowly because there was pedestrians and all of a sudden my gas pedal was unresponsive. the engine was still running and everything seemed normally but i was barely rolling and when I gave it gas I went no where. kind of like if you are in neutral and you try to take off. Only I was in DRIVE!!!!!!! it was very weird. I rolled to a stop and without putting it in park i tried the gas pedal a little again...no reaction...no go. i put it in park and turned off the car..then I restarted it and was able to drive the short distance to my office. very very weird.

plenty of the dash lights went on but only after the gas pedal became unresponsive.

i willbe taking it to my local Mazda dealer in the morning to see whats up but for tonight i will just pout and worry that something is wrong with my great car!!! (shrug)

any thoughts are appriciated

Wow, thats a crazy thing to have happen. Good thing you were in a parking lot, 'cuz that could have put you in a bad situation should that happen while pulling out into traffic or something.

Good luck with it, I'm sure they'll fix it up right for you... Please post what was wrong with it when you get it back? Even better, can you have them give you the code(s) that they pull from the car?
