Has NE1 installed Mazda CX-9 Auto-Dimming Mirror with Compass and HomeLink

Has anyone installed one of these on their vehicles? I drove home my 2012 CX-9 Touring today that does not have this so I am consindering adding to the vehicle. Curious how clean this kit installs, pics would be helpful if possible.

Thanks

I did.
It is not that difficult DIY.
The Mazda accessory comes with complete and detailed instructions.
Do you have rain sensing-wiper in your CX9? It makes a difference.
The rain-sensing wiper makes it slightly more difficult to install the mirror per se,

It is about 2 hour job, good for weekend DIY.
Make sure you get the right kit (adapter, etc.) for your model.
Check here for right part (not necessarily buy them here)

Thanks, I read thse instructions and agree straight forward but what I am wondering and would like to see is how the wire runs across headliner. I'm assuming that you do not see the wire anywhere after installation? Does it tuck in nice out of sight and stay out of sight? I do not have rain sensing so have the easier option for this. Any chance you have pics of your headliner area that you could share?

You have to pull the trim panel of A-pillar off. Run the wires (three: 12V constant, 12V switched, and ground)
down the A-pillar, and put the trim panel back. You can't see the wires except for a small section near the
mirror.

Because there are three wires, you can't tuck them in nicely.
Remember that we have side curtain airbags.
The wires cannot hinder the deployment of curtain airbags.
The instruction tells you how to run the wires.

It is a bit tricky to pull the A-pillar trim panel. Read it carefully.
You pull the top end off by 1-inch and pull it upwards towards the roof.
Don't force it off. You will break a special pin that designed for curtain airbags.

The wires go up to the headliner (covered by a plastic kit), run inside the headliner to the A-pillar trim, and
run inside the A-pillar trim down to the kick panel for wire tapping.
No. you can't see any wire near A-pillar area.

metal detector

Among all the detecting activities, gold metal detecting is the most interesting one. We can not only relax both our mind and body , but also find a big fortune if we are lucky enough. Next time if you feel bored, you can pick up a gold detector and have a try.
