Has anyone replaced their DP gasket?

How many people have replaced their downpipe and also replaced the gasket between the downpipe and the turbo? Or was the gasket in good shape and didn't need replacing?
The dealership wants $97 for a new one (I think they're around $70 online) and I'm trying to decide if I need it when I put the Cobb downpipe in. I'd really hate to get the install done only to find that the gasket is leaking. At the same time, I don't want to buy a gasket I don't need.
I figure if everyone who's installed a new downpipe has kept the original gasket and not had problems, then I can too. If some people have had to replace it, I probably will too to be on the safe side.

I'm pretty sure the Cobb downpipe comes with a new donut gasket for the CBE end so I'm covered there.

Thanks!

haltech from **************** put on a cobb downpipe and used the stock gasket for the turbo/dp connection and had no problems. I am pretty sure the cobb DP does not come with a new donut gasket tho so you will need that or use the stock one if its in good shape

On Cobb's website, they list under the downpipe's features "Stock donut gasket for optimal sealing and long life". Maybe I misunderstood that to mean it was included.

I'll have to read through Haltech's write-up again.

^ The donut gasket goes at the end of the DP and mates to the under-car cat ... I believe the opening poster is asking about the one that goes at the start of the DP where the turbo is ... I left mine as it is and most, if not all, have re-used it as well.

I put on my Cobb DP at 8K miles and the gasket was pristine. No Cobb does not include any gaskets with the DP. The only gasket/hardware they provide is for the cat back where it connects the middle section to the exhaust tip section. If you are really picky you may want to pick up a donut gasket from the dealer, but mine was fine.

The gasket does not need to be replaced as it is a hard gasket and not a flimsy paper/cork one. The only reason to replace it is if you took it off and purposly bent it and broke it in half or something.

I'm more concerned about the gasket between the downpipe and the turbo as it's the one that's hard to get to and more expensive. It sounds like I can get away without replacing it.

PCspeed3, you didn't replace the donut gasket either? How long have you been running with the Cobb DP? How do you like it? How's the sound? I've been looking for soundclips of the DP with the stock CBE but haven't found any yet.

That's the DP-Turbo gasket you're talking about right?

Thanks everyone for your input!

LBV: on a MS3 when you get a DP like cpe or cobb it is both the dp and mid-pipe section so the dp wouldnt be mating to the "under car cat" as you say, it will be connecting to the CBE. just to clarify for noobs even though you clearly are not a noob but you own a ms6 not 3
