Has anyone had the new bushings "clunk"...

i've had them for 1500 miles in michigan (TERRIBLE weather) since oct 25

handling was much better initially.
the clunk has not been back.

now- fix the STUPID SQUEAK UP front!

Had them put on over the weekend and the car feels like a totally new car compared to what it was with the clunk.

Of course they haven't been on very long but I hope it stays as quiet as it is now.

Brian,

With the deteriorated bushings you don't realize how much stability and performance you are loosing if that stabalizer bar is not functioning as it was intended to. The deterioration is not instant so you kind of never realize that you are loosing a degree of performance.

After they were replaced the rear seemed much more planted and like I was able to take it into corners harder than before. The hole car just felt more solid, with the old bushings it felt as if it was "loose" to put it into one word.

yeah my car feels like it has 100k on the suspension from the bad front and rear bushings. i was very disapointed until i got the new ones on. now it feels okay. this is the 3rd replacement and 1st of the newest ones. hopefully they work.

I have had my new bushings on for 3 months and I have not had one clunk. I am very, very happy with these babies.

Now I need to go knock on a big piece of wood. :p

Guys, if ANY of yours fail. Let me know ASAP. I'll take it to Mazda directly and I guess we'll got back to the drawing board.

Keeping fingers crossed

Also, check out the MP3 thread from time to time for other updates from other owners

I have an appointment on the 31st to get my ECU flashed and the bushings replaced. Hopefully I'll share in the luck of no more 'clunking'. Do you notice a big difference after the ECU flash??

Yep... I just got my new bushings and ECU flashed. I don't really notice any better handing, but the clunk is gone. As far as the ECU flash goes, I don't really notice that much of a difference in pull or anything, but the hesitation is gone. The car only has 1500 miles so far, so I didn't really expect much of a change in handling. Well, I'm happy.

Now... I need to get some recaro's or sparco seats. I can't drive it like I want to cause I get thrown around from side to side. lol

Hola ! I just dropped my car off @ the dealer to have my bushing put on ( I told to make sure they were the E and not the D )and check for that damn coolant smell again , Plus to get the ECU flashed. They rented me a car this time though. Will write back to let y'all know how long it took.

Yes, they are covered under warranty.

When you get your work order, make sure it states the part number and that it ends with "E"

I think the full number for these was 156E, they are the ones you want, NOT THE "D" bushings.

Cool Mark. Thanks! Good,,,then they can take care of the coolant leak that they never fixed right the first time, and the ECU flash.

I really ******* hate car dealers. I really do!

No problem Greg,

I'll post up the exact number for these bushings tonight for easy reference when you head back to the dealer. I just called my dealer to make sure they had them first before taking the time to drive there. I would call and ask if they have them first.

They seem to be on a big back order but my dealer had a few sets of them.

Taking my car in on Thursday. The car is only a few weeks old and I started hearing the clunk.

Part # is: BN7H-28-156E

We'll see how it goes. Damn, I have to take off the JoeP MBC I just put on.

just toss in a note for you all...i took my car in because the clunk was back after putting in the "d" bushings. and I had them fix the cruching noise as well. or creak which ever you like to call it. they did not put the "e" bushings which I thought was odd. but they replaced the stabalizer control link/bushing in the front and rear. the clunk is gone for now and the creaking noise is gone.....for now. the part numbers were LC62-34-170B and B26R-28-170.

hope that helps.
