haven't had any..... 20/5 might be 5/20... anyway: that big E at the top of the chart: i can't see it at less than 5 feet.

ok, just so you know what the 20/20 means:
the first 20 is the distance from the letters - 20 feet
The second 20 is the size of the letters you can read in a measurement called pica.
The smaller the second #, the smaller the letter, thus the better your sight.
I believe the big E is 20/400. In Virginia, anything worse than 20/450 is legally blind, according to a show I saw on TV about Lasik.

Anyways, I've had so many exams that I know the letters by memory now.
The 20/20 line is FELOPZD
The 20/15 line is DEFPOTEC

oh sweet. I'm gonna memorize those so I can get into the US Navy and fly one of the only two F4 Wildcats to manage to shoot down tons of Japanese Zeroes during a certain air raid. Oh, and when that's done, I'm going to be a good boy and donate tons of blood. I should be feeling weak, now. But there are plenty of men stuck in a capsized ship, so it's off to the ship's keel I go with a jackhammer.

hey while we're on the subject - those of you who got the surgery - what power were your contacts at when you got the surgery? I'm at -11 and I asked the doctor about surgery. He said I hadn't passed the threshold of correcting to 20/20, but I'm just curious where you guys were at?

Sorry to threadjack, just a thought :)

I was -5.5 on each eye, and had the surgery done on Friday, went home took a nap, woke up and could see!!

went back the very next morning (saturday) for a follow up and I was 20/15.
