Has anyone had a dealer install mods?

I was just curious because I heard some dealerships were selling CAI's and if they install the part they have to cover it under warranty, right? I'm just so paranoid right now about doing anything to my car because I don't want to lose the warranty. Yes I did search and I looked at the Enjoy the Drive pages in the Aftermarket Guide thread but I'm still uneasy as far as what I should do. If paying more for the dealership to install mods means that I won't void my warranty then I'm all about that. Although I don't think a boost controller would ever be covered in the warranty:) Thanks for any insight/experiences.

When I was at the dealer last, there was a guy with 03 black mica trying to get them to install a turbo timer. They said no way they would install it, or any aftermarket parts.

They were cool about all of my mods though, as were the people at the Denver dealership.

I ordered my boost gauge(autometer) through my dealership, and they installed it for me, and everytime I'm in there they try to get me to buy a cai from them, which will not void the warranty, but I am waiting till after the winter before I do any more mods.

i was too busy to do my cam install so i had the dealership do it. i'm pretty sure my warrenty is gone at this point but when my sway bar ruined my struts they replaced them under warrenty. nice guys :)

install all mods yourself, then if you need to take them off you know how, or if something goes wrong and you need to replace it you know how to do that too. don't be afraid to break things, worst comes to worst you have to take it somewhere and get it installed anyways, no big loss

For the people who helped me, thank you very much. For the person who proclaimed search, F U. I already said I searched. So what I'm understanding is that some dealerships won't to a thing but others will. Guess I'll have to call my dealer.

Depends on the dealership...

There's an awsome dealership in Wooster, OH that installs stuff and sells the cars off. Then they tell the customer ONLY to bring the car to them for service and they will take care of it.

I know the service manager at my local dealership so I'm not worried about voiding warranty.... As I said, it all depends on your dealership.

im cool with the service manager at my dealership and hes cool with my mods. i was busy one day and they were doing my oil change and put my crossdrilled/slotted rotors on for me while they had the car in the air. great bunch of guys here i Ltown
