has anyone else changed dash colors?

I'm doing mine soon - nothing radical, but I will be changing all the "champagne" to a nice bright silver, and probably painting the gauge surround, too.

I got a product recommended to me by a custom stereo install shop - it's what they use when they fabricate and/or paint dash panels.

It's called "bumper coater" by a company called SEM. It's really made for exterior plastic bumpers, but that only means it will adhere really well, and last forever on plastic interiors. Plus, unless you clear-coat it (they sell that, too), it'll retain the same shine as the stock color - it's glossy, but not mirror glossy (that's exactly how I want it). This paint is the same lustre - I've seen it used and it looks awesome. And it comes in a ton of colors.

I plan on doing mine as soon as get off my ass - but I have the paint. You can get it in spray cans or for spray guns - I got a can for $6 - try real auto-body supply stores - you won't find this at Home Depot or Pep Boyz. Maybe check online, too - but don;t bother with any of the "Interior Styling Sprays" by companies like G2 - this is a better product, and it's less than 1/2 the price.

I was planning to paint them all silver. Like the J SPEC ones....
But I was always thinking of getting carbon fiber for all of them.
It was selling on ebay a while ago for like $175 US

I will probably end up painting some of my dash areas this summer. I think I will leave the center console alone and not mess with that area or the parts around the radio. Instead I plan to paint the frame around the instument and panel.
Of course I will use yellow to match the yellow of my pro5.
