So far, 23,500 miles, 2 new tires, 2 sound systems and one accident.

Anyone else buy a Protege5 on day one of its release besides me?

According to my records...

I bought mine June 7, 2001. Almost a year for me! Woo hoo!

I'll let you know on June 7 how many miles and anything I've done to it ;)

Dude - we've got the same birthday!!

June 7 was my delivery date last year - but I'll put down money I've got more miles than you - 24,500 with a week to go!

Happy birthday!

BTW - just curious - when is the manufacture date of your car? Mine is April 22, 2001, if I remember correctly. You can find it on one of the door sill labels - driver's door, I think - wouldn't it be strange if those were the same?

hihoslva...

well I'll bet money you have more miles too!! lol

I took my car to my Mazda dealer for it's 15,000 mile inspection. I guess I'm a little above average according to miles-per-year chart I looked at one time. I read somewhere it's like 10,000 - 15,000 miles per year for the average driver.

I know I have over 15,000, but on June 7th, I'll give you the exact milage and a complete run down of things that have come along with my Pro5 in a years time. ;)

...ohhh yeah....

I didn't see the last part of your post...it's dark out right now, but tomorrow I'll be sure to check for that date. That'd be frick'n bizzare if they were the same! I'll let you know

hihoslva...I think I found the date...

I looked on the door label, and there is a date. But all it said was

04/01

So I don't know if that means April 1st, or if it mean April of 2001. That's all I could find.

Also, I got your Email, and then I emailed the Wooster Mazda dealer to see if I could order the bugshield over the phone...as I'm not particularly interested in Ebay. lol  Hopefully, they respond.

Today I bought some red high heat engine paint for my calipers and a couple sheets of steel mesh to make inserts for the front grills. I also ordered a 24" X 10yr. roll of red vinyl from a local place, APEX Signs & Designs. My summer project is to customize my interior with the vinyl! Should keep me pretty busy.

Mazda of Wooster will probably reply - give them a few days.

I actually won two auctions - the bugshield and the rear bumper step plate. When using a credit card, they ask for you to call. I talked to Nate in the parts dept. and he was very helpful - even combined the shipping for me.

He said he would call me back with the total, and did so promptly. You shouldn't have any trouble with ordering from them. If you don't get an email reply in a few days, call the phone number - I'm pretty sure it's listed in all their auctions - if not, go to their eBay store, and you'll definitely get it there - last resort is www.mazdaofwooster.com to get the number.

I'm gonna check on the build date again - maybe the sticker is in a different place than I thought - or maybe it wasn't as specific as the 22nd of April.

You were right! Mazda of Wooster emailed me back the next day. They gave me a toll-free number to call. I like quick service! :D

I forgot to do this June 7th

It's June 10th now, 3 days past my one year with my P5

At last check, it has a little over 16,000 miles.
If ya wanna see what I did, check out that thread on how much ppl have spent on their P5. :)
