Handbreak slipping

Last May my Mazda 3 sport rolled downhill and kissed a lampost 12 ft away
The handbreak had to be on because the car will roll even if it is in gear.
I was told there was no problem with the breaks and would have to forkout 600 for a repair at the Cheater dealership.
I had it repaired for about 100 locally.
However It has happened again and I now have photographs showing the handbreak is on and witnesses who will verify my claim that there is a problem.
Has anyone else had handbreak problems?
My real concern is it could have killed someone if it hadnt hit the lampost because it is then a clear 100 yard downhill run into someones front room if it manages to miss cars on the road at the bottom

Your car will not roll while in gear,no way .But it has to be in LOW,1st gear.

Or REVERSE then it CANNOT unless your clutch is *****ed

Proper parking technique is to turn the wheels so that IF the car rolls
it will steer itself into the curb, however I say again, if in low gear or
reverse,the car will not roll.

Your mileage will not vary.

I have an '08 MS3 and this is the first car I've owned that would NOT let you e-brake slide. I just can't get it to lock up. Maybe I need to pull on it harder, I dunno........

OR you just shouldnt ebrake slide ur car....just a thought

Is it a manual? if so it shouldnt roll at all in any gear when its parked. same for auto's and park really. as for the handbrake i'd imagine it could be adjusted if need be, maybe it's not holding tight enough? not too sure, sounds like you may have a bigger issue before you get to the handbrake not holding

Before my MS3 '07 Sport I had an '05 3s manual and mine too slid twice, but hit nothing, with ebrake wrenched all the way up. Once out of a friend's driveway, just kind of crept back, and another time same driveway, bit of an incline. Once was in neutral other was in 1st. No explanation, and never did it again or anywhere else.

My '05 has done it a few times. Been that way since new, probably ought to have the dealer adjust it. If not in gear, it'll creep down the driveway a little at a time, groaning each time it slides. In gear, it'll creep a little until the driveline tightens up, then no more.

If I lived in San Francisco or Cincinnati, I'd be hosed.
